This week, we close out the year with a look at your holiday reading ahead of our upcoming Deployment 2016 series.
Apple produces a range of useful documentation about iOS deployments and we discuss the purpose of each:
- Apple.com/education/it and Apple.com/ipad/business/it/
- iOS Education Deployment Overview
- iOS Deployment Reference
- One to One Deployment Planning Guide
- VPP Program Guide
- DEP Program Guide
- Apple Deployment Programs Help
- iOS Security White Paper
The iOS Security White Paper is a really useful tool. Quite often, IT departments who are resistant to iOS deployments will play the security card to bamboozle teachers. This document is very useful as you can say "Here. Read this, highlight the areas you are concerned about and come back with reasons why iOS security is not good enough." You'll often find that the security reasons either melt away or are shown to be security problems in the fundamental design of the school network infrastructure.
Bradley and I are really looking forward to refreshing our deployment series for iOS 9, DEP and all the other new stuff in 2016.
